Overall Satisfaction with Okta
Single Sign On provider for our business so that users don't have to remember a bunch of passwords. Additionally, it has helped with our onboarding and offboarding workflow as it minimizes number of steps involved and provides a single pane of glass. Overall, a great product with no major issues or obnoxious quirks.
Pros
- Improves onboarding and offboarding experience
- Provides single pane of glass
- Uptime
- SSO
Cons
- Integration with more partners
- Making it easier for 3rd party to accept Okta as a sign on solution
- When there is an issue with Okta the communication of impacted parties uses inside baseball terminology, e.g., "US Cell 14 is impacted." We can find what regions are in what cells by searching online, but why not just include that in the email itself rather than making users jump through hoops.
- Improved security posture
- Improved speed of onboarding/offboarding
- Provides a single throat to choke for so much management
We've benefited greatly by having a single pane of glass for most of our platforms. Okta would be perfect if all our platforms supported it, so it would be nice if Okta could incentivize and proactively reach out to provide the tools for easy integration to anyone with a login/password for their website.
Overall, the support with Okta has been very good, they respond quickly and with useful information and next steps. They do not push you to a community forums website like other companies will for support.
It allows users to be able to do their jobs and to not working about a critical service being down. The only improvement is when there is an issue to communicate better who is being impacted, currently the language used is useless to those who don't work for Okta or have their cheat sheet nearby (e.g., US Cell 14 is having issues).
