Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud (formerly Episerver B2B Commerce Cloud)

Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud is used company-wide by both internal users/employees and also external customers and users as well. We have a vast catalog of products across varying categories that have been set up in our ERP for over 15-20 years. Finding a platform that was hooked directly into our ERP, but also offered large-scale B2B services was a key selling point for our team. We're continually pushing out new customizations and upgrades, and the Optimizely team is also great at listening to the community through their Feedback and World User forums to make the changes that will directly affect us all as users. As a company, we're currently in the process of using B2B Commerce Cloud as a pseudo-PIM system and developing APIs for it to act as a middle man "storage point" for our omnichannel selling experience (3rd party sales channels, EDI, Punchout, etc). Our customers enjoy the out-of-the-box functionality and we love being able to directly port all of our crucial ERP data directly into B2B Commerce Cloud to be as transparent with customers as possible when it comes to their accounts, orders, purchase history, etc.
  • Integration Jobs/Connections - Providing a good out-of-the-box solution to hook into ERPs and common endpoints.
  • Design and Development Partner Network to work with - If you have customizations in mind, the Optimizely partner network will give you the chance to find a suitable partner to meet your needs.
  • Good layout/flow/settings breakdown - There are a lot of "redundant" settings, but the more management access, the better.
  • The out-of-the-box designs/templates could be better.
  • Usability is lacking on some pages due to the API calls being made, but this is likely an issue on our end and not Optimizely.
  • There are a lot of basic import/export functions that don't exist or that don't work correctly. The ability to import plain text category strings by product, importing specific user data, see alternate units of measure on products (not just default), etc.
  • There isn't a lot of visual feedback on the front end for users when clicking buttons/elements, removing table elements, etc. When the user clicks on something, it usually takes 3-7 seconds before anything occurs and most users will just assume nothing happened and click the button or element over and over.
  • Our total "online purchase" experience has increased year over year as we've moved away from other platforms.
  • Adding EDI and Punchout functionality has also increased online business potential for some of our larger customers.
  • When our APIs are fully built, our omnichannel selling experience will be completely streamlined so Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud will act as the middle man to utilize the integration jobs to submit 3rd party orders to our ERP. This was done manually before.
They were definitely very on top of things in the beginning, but, to be honest, we really only reach out to them in times of need or if things are going wrong. Our partner and the Optimizely support staff do a good job at helping us out in the interim for the lower hanging fruit, but our account manager does great at moving higher priority tickets and issues along as well.
To be honest it does lack a bit here from the "professional" side of things. Most websites/platforms are all out-of-the-box solutions with customized themes, branding options, etc. Optimizely (at first) was very cookie cutter in the setup before we got it to a point that aligned with our brand standards as a company. We've had to push through a few customizations to tailor our needs as a B2B supplier that we believe could have and should have been out-of-the-box functionality for Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud.
Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud was the only solution that had a direct API connection to our ERP from day 1. The other solutions did have API building available but at a larger cost. The built-in WIS/Integration jobs in the Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud platform are also a step beyond the others.

Do you think Optimizely Configured Commerce delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Optimizely Configured Commerce's feature set?

Yes

Did Optimizely Configured Commerce live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Optimizely Configured Commerce go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Optimizely Configured Commerce again?

Yes

I think that there are a lot of companies (us included) that are looking for a solution to fit into their current needs, versus looking for a solution that is going to solve all of their problems. For us, Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud fits into the former in that situation where we have specific ERP needs, specific data needs, usability and user management needs, etc. and Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud just happens to fit in there the most.
