Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Content Management System
I use Optimizely CMS for the management of the content for all of the Novant Health web properties under NovantHealth.org. We are fairly new to Optimzely, just in August 2023.
- Content Testing.
- Personalization
- Management of multiple sites on one platform.
- Needing to click through layers to edit nested blocks seems inefficient.
- Projects can get messy as it is easy for unintended items to get added to a project.
- Shared blocks are a great feature, but we run into issues where users use a block not understanding that it is shared and edit the block, resulting in wrong content in sections of the site.
- Projects and Preview links have helped contain project work and provide a review before publishing.
- Many features we are looking forward to using more but have not yet implemented, such as testing and personalization.
We currently just have the CMS system implemented.
It was quick to get the system up and running, but the time to get the site ready for production was quite a bit longer than expected. This was more due to external factors than Optimizely.
Sitecore, DNN, Sitemaker, Wordpress. Sitecore was almost on par with the features offered through Optimizely. I believe we chose Optimzely based on cost, reviews from others, the availability of a CDP, and the testing and personalization features.
