Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

We use DYN Managed DNS to manage all DNS across our organization. It allows a simple tool to keep all of our DNS management in a central location with the redundancy that is offered by DYN. We're able to stage our updates and push them live when ready for the changes to go. It's a simple tool to use.
  • Both a basic UI and advanced UI for all levels of management.
  • Simple tools to see what changes are complete and which are pending.
  • Ability to export and import DNS entries in standard formats.
  • User management is very messy. It needs to be fixed after the change to a single sign-on a few years back, and it feels unfinished.
  • Really fast response times have shown an improvement in user engagement.
  • Made launches and changes in DNS a much faster and simpler process, thus making our engineering team much happier.
Compared to the tools provided by the big domain providers, DYN really shines. This is because they focus on DNS and making it the best they can. GoDaddy's UI is really hard to manage and missing a multitude of features. DYN really shines when placed next to any of the domain name provider DNS solutions.
Haven't had a need to work with the support team and DYN to date. The system has always done what we needed and the support documentation is straightforward and has answered any questions that we have had. They provide updates if there are ever any issues in a timely manner and make sure everyone knows what is going on.
As previously mentioned, the UI is very straightforward and simple to use. Organization of domains makes sense and the ability to add new domains is very quick and easy to accomplish. The only issue is related to the management of user accounts, which is confusing. Once you figure it out though, it works alright.
Great for managing a lot of domains that need redundancy and quick return times. If you just have a couple of domains, this may not be the tool for you (although it should still do the job just fine). The tools really make managing a lot of domains very easy to maintain.
