Overall Satisfaction with OutSystems

The platform is being used to solve complex and simple projects, across different departments in the organisation. Basically, we are addressing all types of problems that come across. Whether the need is web or mobile.
  • Complex logic that is easy to read
  • Code easy to debug and mantain
  • Fun to use and easy to learn
  • One of the aspects that have been evolving and I think where there is still much to be done, are improvements related to developing and maintaining CSS classes. It is not possible to merge CSS files, some styles are not well interpreted by the IDE; even the creation of new CSS classes could be improved.
  • Another aspect I would like to see improve is lifetime performance, and also more features like new analytics performance and adoption metrics.
  • Another good example of positive impact on business objectives is a project where I've been envolved, where even custom developments have failed. And the main reason for that was because the requirements were changing all the time, and after each sprint we had to change the course of the project. There were times that after changing the same component 3 times the business decided to rollback to the starting point. This scenario was tremendously difficult and time-consuming if we were not using a low code platform. The project turned out to be a success and the business was able to redefine their own processes.
  • I have some more examples where existing market solutions have failed for various reasons, and investments were made in vain. The platform endows the business with the flexibility needed to build fast and more business oriented, bringing return on investing and more value to the costumer.
If your business is needing new applications to be delivered fast, whether they are web or mobile, the Outsystems platform is the best choice for low code. The scenarios where it is less appropriate are the ones with low budgets since the licensing prices are not appealing.
