Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Hard to get a hold of the person who is supposed to be supporting our company. I know we are not their only client, or else they would be twiddling their thumbs 99% of the time, but I rarely am able to contact them. But most of the time whoever I end up talking to does a good job.
I've used other payroll products before and it wasn't very different than the others.
We use it for our whole entity.
  • Walks you through the new employee process.
  • If you forget to do something while entering a new employee they will contact you.
  • Timeliness of receiving W-2's.
  • Web based. So if I had a problem with the internet at work I could potentially go home and work on it.
  • Would like a place to put local address. (We employ several college students.)
  • Web based. So if there is an internet outage over our region I might not be able to produce payroll even if I went home to work on it as I live less than 4 miles from work.
  • It allows employees to view their pay information online. (Even though only ~50% of them have viewed it after signing up for it.)
Our HR and/or payroll team has saved 1-25 hours per month. - We do paper time sheets so there isn't a great deal of time savings per payroll. Some time is saved because I don't have to prepare or file the employment tax returns, pay the employment taxes myself, nor do I have to print the W-2s.
  • ADP and Shelby
We were with ADP for several years and moved from them to Shelby because ADP didn't support our bank so we couldn't do direct deposit. Ended up saving a lot of money because ADP is crazy expensive.
Moved from Shelby to Paycor because our Diocese mandated the change. It's a bit more expensive than Shelby, but the Diocese reimburses us the costs.
Well suited if you have multiple departments.
