Paycor's main advantage over the other managing tools I have used is how fast I learned how to use it and that the information is easy to access while not cluttering the screen. I didn't personally choose to use Paycor; by chance, I got to use it in a new campaign, and I'm very glad I did because it gave me more time for the rest of my tasks.

From my recent evaluations, it seems like (from my lens/my company's needs) Paylocity seems to have moved ahead in terms of adapting to the workforce over the past few years + general updates. Because it wasn't my choice to switch from Paylocity to Paycor, I can't speak to how it's better.

  • ADP Resource (Discontinued)
Paycor is so much easier to use than ADP Resources was. It is also exponentially more affordable and provides a lot more support from customer service. ADP didn't allow customers to create new payroll batches and required 15 min waits between payroll submission and completion. Paycor is so much more user-friendly.

In our search for a replacement for ADP, we looked at UKG and Ceridian. As a result of ADP's lack of assistance, we sought an alternative option. The program had a lot of issues, and customer care was unable to assist. We analyzed ADP and Paycor as well as Ceridian. We were able to find what we were looking for in all three programs. Paycor's customer service was promised, and the pricing was the best, so we decided to go with them.

We selected Paycor b/c we were looking for a more streamlined onboarding interface, a better self-service portal, an easier phone app, and we also track extensive payroll details in our GL. On all of these points, we've been disappointed with Paycor's performance (especially as compared to their promises during the sales process).

I was not part of the selection process for either system, but I do find Paycor easier to use. Our company switched from using TriNet to Paycor about a year ago. When we were using TriNet, we did not use it to track time and instead used it for benefits and company announcements, so I can't make a direct comparison, but I am happy with Paycor.

I don't see Paycor's advantage over other software, outside from the fact that it's a bit cheaper. The user interface is poor, the tax payments are late, and it's difficult to see information like PTO from other teams. Perhaps other businesses can make this work for them, but for our size company it's a big issue and we will be changing off of them after one year.

With Paychex Flex it was taking me 8-12 hours to process a payroll. That was one of the main reasons we looked at other companies. I worked for ADP Total Source for a little bit. I did like their platform, it is the same as workforce now, but Total Source is the PPO version. ADP was a bit high on the price for us. Paycom and Paylocity were strong runners-up for us when we chose Paycor. The systems all seemed very user-friendly and easy to use. The main reason we chose Paycor over the other 2 was the sales rep. He was very helpful and would do anything he could to get things done for us if we were experiencing a problem.

When I started this business 4 years ago, I immediately defaulted to Paychex since I used them for over 20 years at my last company. It took a lot of effort to even get them to return my calls and emails. Then, when they reluctantly took my business on, they assigned me to a rep in Indianapolis - even though I'm in Nashville, Tennessee! That office wouldn't return my calls or emails for up to 2 weeks at a time. So I did some online research and discovered Paycor, and I'm very glad that I did. I have been very satisfied with the customer service I've received, and I've been very impressed with the respect and patience they have shown to me, even though I'm a very small business.

I would say Paylocity is the more budget-friendly option. It's great for smaller companies with limited needs, but larger companies my feel a squeeze in the lack of customization options.

We moved to Paycor from onemint. onemint was very difficult to navigate, and that is one realized gain of switching to Paycor. Navigation aside, I believe that both applications are equal in terms of what they can provide and cost.

Paycor is becoming a one-stop shop now that they have upgraded their time and attendance and recruiting, it makes it very convenient to log into one site and maneuver between several sites.
