Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Paycor is used for full payroll processing, information database, performance reviews, benefits, compensation, taxes, and reports. It is used across the entire organization.
  • Uses Carrier Connect to interface benefit changes and deductions directly to insurance carriers from Paycor.
  • Time and demand system is easy to use for managers for timekeeping.
  • Customer support is easily available in the moment or for scheduled meetings to discuss transitions or complex projects.
  • Performance Management platform needs work. Functionality and capabilities are limited. Lack of availability to customize work flows.
  • Training course management could be more user friendly.
  • I only have two points to comment on in this area.
  • Increased efficiency in managing paper and personnel files has had positive impact.
  • Minimized manual errors with benefit interface with carriers has saved time and money in processing.
  • Loss of job history with the upgrade last year has had a negative impact, causing manual searching through old files in off-site storage.
Our HR and/or payroll team has saved time, but I'm not sure how much. - Paycor has been here since I started so I can't quantify time savings from the prior program. My team has assumed many more responsibilities and have been able to do so as a result of using Paycor, so I would argue there is a likely time savings as well. From the benefit side, elimination of manual transmission of files each pay period to all benefit carriers has saved a significant amount of time in processing.
Overall usability is solid and consistent for both direct users in HR and the occasional users by staff. My rating is less than a 10 due to the challenges with using the performance review portal of the system with its lack of customizable capabilities. Also, while there is a good variety of standard reports, the reporting module is often out of service and the use of the program to create your own custom reports is not user friendly.
I did not select Paycor, but am satisfied with it as compared to the prior three programs. At my last company I managed the transition from ADP to Paylocity and was very disappointed with the product we received. I've worked with ADP at many organizations and they have not maintained a current product applicable to today's changing work environment. Lawson is designed for major corporations. Paycor has minor challenges as noted previously in this review; however, their team appears to strive to continuously improve their line of products and services offered.
I think Paycor is suited well for the medium to small business. Having worked in large corporations I don't feel the functionality would suit the volume for those. There are just too many manual processes. For a medium business, less manual processes would be a positive enhancement, but enough of the day to day is automated that it works for a business our size.
