Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

I'm the primary contact person and the primary user. I'm the employer administrator. I manage both the HR and payroll task. Getting everyone paid correctly is the main problem we have. Our company maybe unique because we have 3 different pay types (salary, hourly and shift pay). It has been challenging getting the shift pay done correctly. We have a lot of different pay classes and its challenging making sure everyone is in their correct pay class. I believe the more I work with the software, the better user I will become.

Pros

  • They provide a lot of information/resources.
  • There are lots of useful reports.
  • Everyone gets paid.
  • They are constantly updating the system.

Cons

  • Manual onboarding needs help. Employees are defaulted to the wrong job class and I have to correct their job class after I have hired them.
  • Our default time zone should be the time zone of the employer, not Paycor's time zone.
  • Ability to run a report showing employee time zones.
  • Ability to run a report showing employee Policy Group.
  • Managers spend less time approving employee time cards.
  • Payroll Manager sends less time making manual changes to employee time cards.
Our HR and/or payroll team has saved time, but I'm not sure how much. - Prior to the new time keeping system, it would take minutes to approve one time card because you had to approved each punch and confirm missed pushes. Now you only need to hit 1 button to approve the whole card.
You have to be an administrator in order to know how to assign a Policy Group and how to work Automatic Hour Policies. Even as the administrator, I still have issues with this process.
I didn't choice Paycor over ADP. I worked with ADP at another company.

No

I don't believe there is a perfect payroll company that will meet the needs of every employer. But I feel a payroll company should try to cater to the needs of their client's individual needs. They should be proactive, on the phone making sure their clients are happy with their product and going out of their way to help deliver satisfaction. In their defense, they do offer a lot of training and resources, the employer just has to find the time to go thru all the resource material that applies to their individual needs. It can be overwhelming.
