Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
As the head of Human Resources, I have administrative rights and use of all non-payroll-related modules. Our payroll department uses Time & Labor and HR & Payroll, and I have integrated Paylocity's Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning, Performance, Data Insights, and Community modules. We use Paylocity for the entirety of the employee lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, offer letters, background screenings, onboarding tasks & forms, performance reviews, skills/certifications, etc.
Pros
- Integration of modules making each step of the employee lifecycle easier.
- Constant development of the system, incorporating new ideas and technology.
- User-friendly functionality our blue-collar workforce really appreciates.
Cons
- Day-to-day customer service is lacking.
- Implementation was rough - it felt like certain project owners rushed us through without fully explaining how we could expand our current processes with Paylocity's tools.
- From time to time, we will experience broken workflows or missing information that no one can explain.
- There will be cost savings by combining our Applicant Tracking System and Learning Management System with our other HR systems.
- Improved communication with employees on important issues through the Community feature. Love the ability to communicate with every single employee on important deadlines and updates.
- Improved document consistency (offer letter drafts, job ad language) and compliance with signed documents.
Paylocity's automation tools have affected our business positively. We are not completely using the full benefit of the scheduling tools or the compensation tools, but many of the other automations are beneficial. This includes (1) auto-generated emails to candidates upon receipt of application; (2) auto-generated emails as candidates are moved through the hiring process; (3) job-specific onboarding packets; (4) job-specific offer letters; (5) job-specific training profiles, (6) and job-specific performance tools. We have not yet tested it, but we are excited to build the auto-assigned PTO accruals with the team very soon.
The community has taken a while to get traction, but we have begun using that part of the system for direct communication with our employees. Before, we sent important information to store managers and asked them to share it with their employees. Now, we can put a notification on every employee's smartphone, provided they have downloaded the app and enabled notifications. We have not used impressions much, nor surveys, but we will at some point.
