In my opinion, Paylocity is great if you want to have more payroll problems and issues with various state tax entities. During our experience with Paylocity, it has created such a mess for us and is not very helpful in getting things cleaned up. In my opinion, they are VERY SLOW at responding to any issues you may have. Sometimes I feel like a month goes by before you hear back with no updates provided between the first email I sent to finally hearing back from Paylocity. I believe that Paylocity is not for growing companies especially ones that are growing in many states. I found that it is a pain to get payroll tax information handled, most issues are not resolved for over 40 business days which is so slow. I feel like Paylocity is great at blaming the customer for mistakes that the system made and then trying to charge us additional fees to get them fixed. I think the customer support is terrible and in our experience, we get a new account manager about every 2 months so we can never establish a relationship with anyone to truly help us with the mistakes.

Paylocity has robust features to manage HR and payroll for Domestic companies. If your organization is US Based, this software can meet your needs for onboarding, HRIS, Payroll, Compliance, Ben Admin, Expense Reporting, and Tax. If you have a globally distributed organization, many of the features that make Paylocity attractive for HR are not usable degrading it to more of a robust payroll tool.

Paylocity claims to be one platform but I consistently run into issues in regard to how data is pushed/pulled between Payroll vs. Time & Labor. The employee search view versus employee HR record view versus employee Payroll record view is frustrating. Would really like to see that streamlined. The report writer is pretty decent, but it was a pain to learn when to make tabular and when not. It was also frustrating that you could not create a report that views YTD information as well as current information in the same report.

The Community feature is excellent for communicating with employees and creating specific departmental groups. Cost-wise, it is priced similarly to other HRIS systems. The functionality of the mobile app is minimal. In 2022 that is unacceptable and very frustrating for employees and leaders when they can't complete tasks on the go. Notifications do not go through to the app for all tasks. Some tasks can't be completed or viewed in the app creating communication barriers and missed deadlines. This makes requests and communications clunky.

Best suited - small HR department, SMB market, need a one-stop-shop for all HR solutions. It is an "all in one" deal that really allows them to free up time and resources to focus on what they do best with people.

Less appropriate - Enterprise employer who likes to control everything about their system. If they like playing with an Oracle or Workday, this will drive them nuts.

Paylocity is well suited for companies like us with multiple branches who need to have easy access to employee information all in one space. It helps with tax set-up, filtering applicants by experience, and establishing a recruitment workflow, as well as prioritizing HR & payroll at the forefront of business administration. It does not suit us well (or as well as it could) with Time & Labor, as managing time off requests through the mobile app and the web version has been quite frustrating.

Implementation was great and we had a pretty solid first 6 months using the software. From there issues started building up. We had a recurring meeting with our account rep which was helping but then she disappeared and we got re-assigned. This individual has not helped us and we've escalated it for the past several weeks. We still have a bunch of unsolved answers with year end looming.

Paylocity offers a fantastic self-service dashboard that makes it easy for employees to find their pay stubs, benefits, time off, etc. all in one place. They are able to create carrier connections with your benefits providers and eliminate the need to go out to the various platforms to enroll, change or terminate someone's coverage. Paylocity also has an in-house Flexible Benefits provider that partners with them and is seamless inside of the benefits portal. It's easy to use and understand.

I've been using Paylocity for 7 years and there are so many modules to assist with about every area of Human Resources. I love that it is my "one-stop shop" for all my HR needs. The staff at Paylocity are very helpful to answer my questions and provide resolution to any issue that may arise, which is not often. Their online tutorials and webinars are very thorough, and they have helped me many times! The Paylocity system can be used with any size organization and feel they have been the best option for our company!

Paylocity has allowed our company to grow faster with Recruiting/Applicant Tracking and Onboarding. Processing payroll is simplified because of the ease of navigating through the platform. Account Managers are friendly and knowledgeable with great customer service and follow up. Having Paylocity saves us time and office space because we no longer have to keep employee files on hand.

I'd say they would be better with smaller companies that are less than 500 employees, but we only have around 60 employees and I have issue after issue. I have had misinformation time and time again. This morning I was communicating via email with someone in customer service and they told me that a new state that was recently set up was in an "Applied for" status, but when I logged onto the Paylocity website that was incorrect. I would not recommend Paylocity to anyone.

Paylocity is very well suited for HR and Recruiting functions. I have used other CRMs in the past (such as Bullhorn for Recruiting) and Paylocity is so much easier to manage, take notes, and keep track of progress. Paylocity does a great job of clearly defining the application to hire process.

If you just need a basic payroll suite Paylocity is perfect for that it does the basic necessities for any company with ease. When you get into more specifics Paylocity usually doesn't have the best capabilities to make the system specific to your company. For instance when trying to setup new hires for their new hire benefits Paylocity isn't capable of letting them be eligible from date of hire to effective date they force you to pick a time frame they have to make their elections. So, either 60 days from their hire date or 60 days prior to the effective date. Which pro-active employees would want 60 days from hire and employees that wait until the last minute would want to make their elections right up until the date its effective.

Paylocity is excellent one-stop program for onboarding, payroll, time and labor and community connections in the workplace. Having an app on each Team Member's phone is probably my favorite feature. Each person can have their pay stubs, schedule, tax notices and more right at their fingertips. This is empowering the individual with all they need to simplify these processes.

Paylocity would be well-suited in an industry/company where pay is not particularly complicated - when pay groups are all hourly or salary. It is less well-suited in our industry - where pay plans are complicated and the set up was less than great.

It has everything thing we need in one application. The app works well for employees to clock in and out. The kiosk always is a good tool for quicker clocking in and out. WE like the performance review section; very functional and easy to use.
