Overall Satisfaction with PingPlotter
We currently use PingPlotter when we come across any network issues with anyone of our customers, and find it particularly useful when troubleshooting issues outside of the network perimeter. We have a team of twenty two technicians who will use this on any given day when working with customers or the dreaded ISP whom loves to point fingers at the local area network. PingPlotter allows us to definitively provide proof to the problem area in a matter of minutes, what used to take hours to accomplish.
Pros
- pin points internal network issues
- pin points external network issues
- reduces time to troubleshoot problems
- saves time and saves face when dealing with 3rd parties
Cons
- post project reporting
- retroactive reporting
- Reduces time for techs to provide accurate device counts for proposals
- improves visibility into networks when troubleshooting
- reduces time for troubleshooting
- we use a RMM for advanced monitoring
- lacks integration into some of the MSP toolsets - well it is a standalone product
- Great ROI, troubleshooting time has been reduced by 90%
- Network Discoveries used to take 2 to 3 hours and were inconsistent - now it is a matter of minutes
- lacks integration into our MSP toolkit, and we now use it as a stand alone product
PingPlotter is a basic version of Auvik, although it is easier to setup and there is less intrusion in the customers network. This allows us to use PingPlotter as a prospecting tool and allows to accurately gather network information very quickly. Basic troubleshooting is great with PingPlotter and we can quickly and easily identify issues on the local network, ISP link or internet. Auvik gives us a lot more detail and we use it exclusively with existing clients only.
