Great platform for SMEs, Startups, and VCs
Overall Satisfaction with PitchBook
We use PitchBook to look for information for a specific startup or about a particular industry (i.e. multiples, other deals in the space, financial performance of competitors).
We also use PitchBook to validate the assumptions we use when creating financial models for our portfolio companies in the accelerator program. This information is extremely helpful since it is the most updated information (way better than reports that usually cover information from 2-3 years ago).

Pros
- Provide the most accurate information about SMEs and Startups
- Give aggregated industry information to validate assumptions
- Keeps you updated about the industries you are interested by signing to their reports
Cons
- Reduce the price and allow users to share licenses. It is really expensive for companies that are not investment banks to access this information. Maybe consider different tiers
- Tell when the information has been audited by a third party. In some cases, the information may be wrong for early stage companies.
- Data reliability
- Information about funds and companies
- Easy to use
- Saved us from investing with an incorrect valuation (multiple times)
- You need to pay per license per user. It is definitely expensive for a small accelerator.
PitchBook is by far the more reliable source for non public companies. This helps a lot in the entrepreneurial and Venture Capital space.
Other platforms may be better suited for other tasks that are not related to SMEs, VC, or Startups.
