Great tool depending on your implementation process and overall goals.

Planful [(formerly Host Analytics)] is used as a database for all of our planning scenarios. We upload revenue projections directly into the cube and our expense functions go into the tool itself and utilize planning templates to project their spending.
We also use the reporting and analytics module for general monthly reporting and have replaced our legacy system generated P&Ls.

We have moved all of our monthly financial reporting over from our legacy system to Planful [(formerly Host Analytics)] reports. This has allowed us to use one standardized format for reporting as well as one source of truth for all relevant financial data.
We do not currently use the automation available, but pull reports down ad hoc.

It is very easy to build new reports. We do not currently use the dashboard functionality.

Self-service reporting is very easy for both financial professional and non-financial professionals. Access is controlled through the security functions. There are features included to allow easy filtering depending on user access and role. Spotlight is also essential to allow for quick access to standardized reports directly through Excel without having to access the web application.
