Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Planview Projectplace to address and track our progress on marketing projects that we have going on. Documents being uploaded to Planview will show in a new to old order, so this ensures that when we're viewing documents, we know we are looking at the latest and greatest. Also, when looking at the progress of our work, we're able to see where we're at in the process.

Usability

Overall usability of Planview Projectplace is fairly good. It's not the easiest software to pick up, but it is also not the hardest. With some time using it and having someone walk you through the initial steps of how to navigate through it, it will be easy to use. Like any new program, it takes time to be proficient at it.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)

I would say Planview Projectplace is an easier program to pick up on versus Microsoft 365. To get Microsoft 365 set up on the company's network can be a challenge and having it properly synced with all the other Microsoft applications can be cumbersome. But, when it is set up properly it works very nice and smooth. Planview is more for the simple, get it done software.

Likelihood to Recommend

Planview Projectplace is better suited for a large project team where there needs to be communication amongst the different personnel in the project team. If multiple documents need to be looked at for approval, this software is suited for that. It is very good to track progress and stay on top of tasks. Sometimes, when forecasting how long certain things take, it can be a little difficult.
