Overall Satisfaction with Pollfish

We utilize Pollfish for market research purposes, mainly large-scale quantitative surveys. We program our surveys in the Pollfish platform and use their respondent panel to collect data from geos all over the world. The main business problems we address are things such as customer satisfaction, jobs to be done, and product / feature prioritization and exploration among consumers.

Pros

  • Global panel allows us to collect data from all over the world.
  • Survey design platform is robust and offers many different question types.
  • Results dashboard and insights builder are great for examining results after surveys go out.

Cons

  • The survey editor UI can be quite annoying. The way it scrolls back up to the top of the page whenever I click on a question to edit it makes it so that the page is constantly moving.
  • Oftentimes I get an "oops an error occurred" message but it never actually explains what is going wrong.
  • Customer support can sometimes take a long time to respond making it challenging when faced with a platform question or capability I am not familiar with.
  • Has definitely helped with the speed at which we turn around research projects due to how quickly we get results back.
  • Has enabled us to survey respondents from around the world to get a better sense of the global consumer perspective of our products.
  • Insights builder has given us fantastic in-depth results analysis and stat testing capabilities that were not previously available.
Overall I think Pollfish is a very user friendly platform but what holds it back from being truly great is a poor user experience when creating/editing surveys. For example, I absolutely hate how when I'm editing a survey and I click on a survey question to change the question wording or the answer choices, it automatically scrolls that question the top of my page. That then disorients me and I have to re-figure out where I was on the page. Additionally, a lot of the times when this happens, my cursor does not actually go to the question I clicked on so I end up having to re-click into the question I want to edit after it scrolls. Just frustrating, especially I have a lot of edits or changes to make.
Overall I would place Pollfish in second place from the list I presented in terms of survey capabilities. My list would go Qualtrics, Pollfish, Lyssna, and then SurveyMonkey. We ultimately went with Pollfish because we felt like it offered most of the main capabilities that Qualtrics offered at a much more attractive pricing model and had features that we knew we would utilize on a daily basis.

Do you think Pollfish delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Pollfish's feature set?

Yes

Did Pollfish live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Pollfish go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Pollfish again?

Yes

Best suited for large scale quantitative surveys, especially if you need results turned around very fast. I'm impressed at the speed that some of the results come in. However, it may not be the best platform if you are trying to program a survey with extremely complex logic. Pollfish, while it does have logic capabilities, lags far behind something like a Qualtrics when it comes to complex logic and distribution capabilities.
