We are IT Consultant, and we deploy Vasion Print into customer environments when a print management solution is required and no local print servers are present.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Deploys print objects to devices where the agent is installed.
Configures Properties and Preferences, with support for multiple profiles.
Applies printer assignments based on rules, including user details, group memberships and network locations.

Cons

Better visibility into deployment and updates would be useful.
Adding proper support for Citrix ICA Redirected Printers would be a game-changer.

Return on Investment

Has enabled us to move forward with migrations to cloud-managed sites for multiple customers.
Provides greater assurance that printers are configured consistently across workstation fleets.

Vasion Print is the best solution I've used so far for managing printers in the absence of a local print server. There's room for improvement but it's a decent product. Engaging with Vasion is fairly painful though, and their multiple portal setup is confusing - even once you've jumped through the necessary hurdles to access it.
