Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

We use Prophix for financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. We have 2 administrators within the finance department and about 50 users across 23 other departments. It has streamlined our reporting and budget processes and allows our departments to access their financial information quickly and easily on their own.
  • With the Ad Hoc function, the ability to pull up any data, across dimensions without having to build a whole report allows for more efficient, on demand analysis.
  • Being unable to zoom in and out to quickly change the view while working in Template Studio is frustrating.
  • It is too easy to accidentally check/uncheck the "calculation definition varies by rule set" in model manager.
  • It can be difficult and daunting to learn all the rules, limits, and functions of the program.
  • Streamlined budgeting
A lot of our budget process became automated with Prophix. Accuracy improved with the complex calculations that can be built into accounts and templates. Much more detail can be stored and accessed through Prophix features.
Never had a problem.
Main users are on-site administrators so deployment flexibility is not that important.

Prophix is well suited for reporting and analysis purposes. We have used it to streamline our budget process and to build reports for better analysis of our performance.

Using Prophix

Workflow commentary is helpful to communicate what changes were made by users at every step of a process. Cell comments help our users provide useful qualitative information for figures. Line item details prove most useful during budgeting, allowing users to provide a full breakdown of each figure that includes a description and comments.
We use workflows for our monthly variance reporting, which provides users deadlines and a means to explain variances without having to meet with upper management. Automated report distribution saves time and ensures reports are never late and always goes to the correct recipient.

It's a wonderful tool, but takes a long time to learn.

Prophix Support

No one ever answers the customer support line, it always goes directly to voicemail. Sometimes when you are corresponding with a representative by email after you've submitted a ticket online, their answers are not very clear. It seems as though every representative is always in a rush, even though you've been forced to schedule a time to get assistance. There is no such thing as instant help with Prophix. The one time I was able to get someone on the phone, they requested that I submit a ticket online because their shift was ending in 5 minutes and didn't want to get stuck on the phone with me.
