Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Analytics Platform
We are a big organization with a lot of business domains and departments. Consequently, each domain and each department within have reporting requirements. They have their data mostly on local or shared Excel files. Every time they need a new report, they either carried out this from scratch or ask the DWH/BI team to create a new report/change the existing one. This brings a lot of overhead and inefficiency. In order to automate this process and remove lots of labor, our organization implemented Qlik Analytics Platform where any user can create and manage its reports. Therefore, the whole organization is happily using it now.
Pros
- Reporting
- Business intelligence
Cons
- It still requires the IT team to setup the reporting page.
- Authorization can be improved via roles.
- Overhead of creating and maintaining BI reports is drastically decreased.
- It provided ability for the business unit to create and manage its own custom reports.
Qlik is a platform with more scaling ability and functionality compared to PowerBI. PowerBI is the prior step before passing to Qlik, however, Qlik provides more functions and abilities to the business domain unit with better management capabilities for the IT team that set it up. In the end, we implemented Qlik for functionality and scalability.
