Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Sense

It beginning to be used (slowly) along side QlikView. We have been using QlikView for several years (6+). The adaptation of Qlik Sense is fairly slow at the moment. Qlik Sense is utilized by select departments that help the development side. Its then pushed out to a larger set of users. Typically these users have some over-sight position.

Pros

  • Ability to quickly create dashboards.
  • The ability to handle complex security and user streams.
  • The ability to leverage tools like, set analysis.

Cons

  • Data modeling in the Qlik Sense is a bit clunky and sometimes challenging.
  • The lack of ability to customize font, color, etc in the dashboards is annoying.
  • In many areas, its is not a superior tool to Qlik View.
  • Undetermined at this time
A the moment, I have a personal preference to QlikView. This is probably due to my the familiarity of the tool, the ability to customize almost anything, and the simplicity of the data modeling. Power BI is fairly simple to use, but lacks any true advantage over Qlik Sense or Qlik View. I
Qlik Sense does well with quickly leveraging all kinds of data. It seems to have a decent tolerance for large data sets. It allows users to create and customize dashboard fairly rapidly. The visualization of the product makes it fairly easy to train users. The ability to set up various levels of user contribution is nice and can be useful for allowing multiple authors to creating dashboards.
