Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
QuickBooks enables us to create orders, purchase inventory, pay employees, and pay bills to our vendors seamlessly. Without QuickBooks, we would need multiple tools to accomplish the same tasks that QuickBooks offers in one program. We appreciate being able to run QuickBooks on a local server, which allows us to maintain control over our data and avoid cloud storage.
Pros
- Inventory Control.
- Quick Reports on Parts.
- Easily integrates parts with BOM.
Cons
- Pricing.
- Better Application for Inventory Control and Cycle Counts.
- Improved Visibility.
- Reduced order errors.
We were able to upgrade from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Enterprise and then later to QuickBooks Enterprise Platinum fairly easily. Our company file remained the same with each upgrade. The only noticeable changes when upgraded were the extra features that came along later. At one point, we wanted better visibility on our inventory control, so we upgraded our package and gained new tools that would allow us to better monitor inventory.
There are many videos online teaching you how to operate QuickBooks. There are not a lot of videos by creators when it comes to inventory control, and the way we use QuickBooks is different from the way most companies use it. Moving to a server I built was fairly easy and the Support team was always very helpful when I needed to call Technical Support.
The report functions have made it very easy to create custom reports, providing a better understanding of the company's current standing.
Fishbowl was going to be added to QuickBooks to support better control. It was not looked into as a replacement but as an addition to the software.
