Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online

Our clients use QBO and provide us access to monitor and edit the accounting when necessary. We also generate financial reports for the client on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Pros

  • Flexible reporting over many periods whether monthly or annually
  • Flexible reporting filters
  • Flexible editing of accounts and transactions
  • Ease of use by the customer
  • The software is widely used and taught in colleges and therefore new accounting hires generally have knowledge of the software

Cons

  • the interface is different than the desktop version causing transitional issues
  • The familiar question that I hear from any new client is "are you familiar with QuickBooks?"
Really have not used any other small business accounting software in the past 5 years due to QB dominance in the small business accounting space. We used to use MYOB which is now accounting edge many years ago.
QB is widely used by small businesses due to its ease of use at the customer level which is extremely important since they are making the initial data entry into the software
  • Fewer than 25% of my clients

Less appropriate for larger companies with large accounting departments due to the high volume of transactions.

Assume it can't do consolidations
