Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT
I am the administrative assistant for the marketing and public relations department of the library. I use Raiser's Edge on a daily basis for posting gifts, donations, memorials, memberships and event tickets. I am currently the only employee that uses the system regularly. I run all of the monthly reports that are needed for gifts, membership, etc., for all 12 of our libraries.
Pros
- Tracking names of people that have purchased tickets for events. This can be used on location at the event and then reports can be generated for the next event to send an email to those specific people.
- Reports for gifts that have been given. I am amazed all the time at how many details you can add to these reports. Everyone thinks I'm wonderful because I can pull this information within minutes!
- Tracking expenses and seating for events. This month is the first time for me to use this feature but I think that it is really going to save us time and headaches as far as seating at the ticketed event.
Cons
- I've not quite figured out the head of household when entering a constituent. Apparently a lot of families were entered with the head of household being the husband. We have had several women upset because we send thank you notes addressed to Mr. and Mrs. and they say the Mr. had nothing to do with it. That he has never been involved with giving, but there is not an option to change it.
- Combining constituents seems a little difficult at times if that person has two records.
- Operational Efficiency
I think Raiser's Edge has helped me to become more efficient. It's a good feeling to be asked for specific information and be able to give someone a detailed report in about 5 minutes. All of this with just a click of a few buttons.
I have only been using Raiser's Edge for about 5 months. I am learning new things that this program does on a daily basis. I believe that once we are all on board using it that it will really be more of an asset to our organization that it is now.
