Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT

Our organization uses Raiser's Edge NXT as our donor management tool. Every department uses it at some point in the month, including fundraisers, executives, and financial management. We find it very helpful in donor analysis, gift management, print and electronic communications with donors and prospects, and tracking relationships and workflows. While we do not use it this way, it is also designed to track grants.

  • Sometimes the system offers a bit too much flexibility, adding extraneous complexity.
  • Cost - it's an excellent system, but the cost makes it a tough sell for a small org with limited resources.

We previously used Exceed Beyond and found it to be too basic for our needs. It lacked the analysis tools, in particular, and did not offer integrated solutions that allow us to keep everything in one system, ie. all our fundraising and accounting functions. We explored numerous alternatives, including Salesforce, and found the purpose-built, ready-to-use, one-stop-shop approach at Blackbaud (Raiser's Edge NXT provider) was by far our best option when considering cost and time to transition systems.
RENXT is especially well-suited to managing fundraising efforts. It helps organizations to identify opportunities by organizing and codifying donor information, then providing excellent reporting and analysis tools (including live dashboards for visualization). This extends to digital marketing tools such as social media interactions and e-newsletters (onboard tools to design both in the software) and a choice of peer-to-peer platforms that can be customized for your needs. In addition, fundraising events are easily planned and executed using the onboard tools, including designing an online registration form, managing RSVP lists, and tracking all related income and expenses.
