Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

I use Read&Write to help students complete writing tasks more independently. It allows students to increase their independence in creating written work without requiring a model to copy from at all times. They can sound out words, and the prediction function will come up with a list that most often contains the word they were looking for.

Pros

  • Many tool options.
  • Customizable
  • User friendly.

Cons

  • Co: The writer used to read a sentence when the period was added automatically; it no longer does that, which is upsetting.
  • Generally the prediction tool doesn't have all the features unless it's in writing mode.
  • The full product is new to us, so we are still determining its effectiveness. Teachers in general education settings are not using it yet.
Students need all the support they need to increase their independence in the classroom.

Do you think Read&Write delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Read&Write's feature set?

Yes

Did Read&Write live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Read&Write go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Read&Write again?

Yes

Read&Write is great for students who require support for reading and writing skills in the classroom to increase their independence. However, it is not always appropriate for every task presented to students, such as testing environments.
