Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write

I use it to zoom into text and filter out other text to focus on a particular sentence or paragraph. When I do that, it's easier for me to read efficiently and focus on what I'm reading. This has immensely helped me be more focused in my work.

Pros

  • Zooming in on text.
  • Free for family.
  • Addressing the needs of individuals with ADHD that have trouble focusing.

Cons

  • The tool is a bit tough to learn in the beginning.
  • Tips and tricks can be sprinkled throughout the process, and Apple has tips on learning about the iPhone.
  • If a representative could be available to help onboard you onto the tool.
  • Attracts neurodiverse employees.
  • Retains neurodiverse employees.
  • People feel we have an inclusive culture because we provide all employees and their families the tools.
I had a great experience getting support from the team, even when putting together a panel. We even got someone from Texthelp to speak on the panel.
This kind of support is essential. No one should ever feel like they have to ask for a tool like this; it should just be available to all. Not everyone is comfortable self-disclosing.

You really have to sit down and learn how to use the Read&Write tool yourself. That's great if you are self-motivated, but for those who might be struggling with various neurodiverse conditions, it may require more time to go through the tool and learn how to use it.
