Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We use Read&Write in our classrooms. The product has been a valuable tool for students that do not like to write for various reasons. Students with poor spelling skills use the word predication and the text to speech feature. Students with lagging fine motor abilities that impedes fluent writing use the app because it eliminates the hurdle that hand writing poses.
Pros
- give auditory feedback
- word prediction
- Cleans up web pages and gets rid of advertising, etc.
Cons
- short pop up video tutorials or pro tips
- increased engagement with language arts activities
- increased productivity with written assignments
students find that it is a helpful tool
A student that was reluctant to write just a few sentences blossomed into a writing. He was enthusiastic because Read&Write gave him the tools that he needed to create and write. He went from dreading writing to writing books (multi-page) during his free time.
