Overall Satisfaction with Renaissance Accelerated Reader
We currently use Accelerated Reader school-wide. This helps us track student reading practice and guide us in recommending reading. Teachers submit weekly reports and at a point goal of 2.5 with an 85 average. These goals are aligned to district goals. This program ensures reading practice that we would otherwise not be able to track other than with a reading log.
- Track student reading practice
- Compare Book Level from STAR to actual book level from reading practice
- Consolidated reports help to see STAR and AR levels
- Ability to duplicate classes
- Share AR classes with STAR so that that we don't have to make separate groups
- Too many steps for Reports
- Used daily to track reading.
- Parents can see progress.
- Students are motivated to meet goals.
I don't know another program like this. We do have many online resources that we use, but nothing like Accelerated Reader. I like that even when we use ebooks such as Capstone, we can link the book to Renaissance so that they can take the test immediately after the book ends.

Renaissance Accelerated Reader Feature Ratings
Using Renaissance Accelerated Reader
800 - We have a population of about 800 students that use Accelerated Reader on a daily basis. Campus and District Administrators use this data and STAR Reading data for grouping and for the purpose of planning interventions to ensure that certain skills are targeted to ensure student reading success.
3 - I am the person in charge of Accelerated Reader of campus. I make sure that all students are enrolled and that they are coded with the correct demographics. I also have a Library Clerk that helps to support this. The school principal is the one who oversees that the Reading Protocols are followed.
