Overall Satisfaction with Robly
We use Robly primarily to produce weekly e-newsletters, and another similar content. One newsletters is sent consistently every Tuesday, while others are tailored to more specific events, initiatives, and announcements as needed. The service allows us to reach segments of our community at a low cost of return, and minimal time.
Pros
- Managing contact lists
- Separate interest lists
- Newsletter design
Cons
- Unable to resubscribe a contact
- We are able to reach segments of our constituencies quickly, and easily
- Allows us to segment by interest
Robly is better suited for a general constituency, versus a more targeted donor system like Blackbaud. It allows us to send weekly, and other general newsletter contact and updates to individuals who might not qualify as donor prospects. Alternatively, it keeps our donor prospects from receiving too many communications, or communications that are not applicable to their interests.

Robly Feature Ratings
Using Robly
10 - Development, communications, and engagement staff, plus individuals heading up specific segments of our organization.
There is no one person in our organization that supports Robly. A staff member focused on communications uses it the most, but it's interface allows multiple touch points. This is a benefit to us, as a small non-profit with limited staffing resources.
- Weekly Newsletter
- Programmatic engagement
- Targeted updates
- Creating dozens of constituent lists to reach specific people with specific interests
- We could likely find more ways to increase the number of contacts in the system
Evaluating Robly and Competitors
Not Sure
- Ease of Use
As a smaller non-profit with limited staff resources and capacity, easy of use and limited training needed were prime factors.
I was not involved in the evaluation and selection process.
