Overall Satisfaction with RUN Powered by ADP®
I've successfully used ZipRecruiter twice through ADP. It was easy to upload a job description, sort through applications, document contact, and schedule interviews. I've found qualified employees using this service both times! Our staff also enjoys the other "exclusive perks" in ADP, through LifeMart, including savings on movie tickets and hotels. Our company has also appreciated the Sam's Club membership discount for ordering office supplies.
We use ADP RUN for biweekly payroll and bonuses. Having ADP manage and pay our state, federal, and worker's comp taxes/insurance saves a lot of time (and frustration!) for our small practice--and for me! We use ADP for our Worker's Compensation insurance. It was less expensive than the policy we had before. Plus, ADP takes care of paying the policy for us, and it's already factored into our biweekly payroll reports for accounting purposes.
Pros

- Provides retirement contribution reports for our investment group
- Allows printing of current and previous tax forms
Cons
- When processing bonuses, it would be nice to have a NET pay selection, in addition to the GROSS pay selection.
- I receive WAY too many emails asking me to purchase additional services, including some that we already have through ADP.
- I receive(d) daily requests for our Section 125 Compliance documentation, which I sent over four times to each different individual who requested them. ADP "mentioned" they'd charge us $350 for this compliance plan, even though we have it and proved it by submitting the "required submission" of the policy multiple times. It's very frustrating, and it causes me to worry about (A), the validity of the request and (B) ADP's recordkeeping, since they can't keep up with the document I've sent multiple times.
- ADP Powered by RUN saves me about 45 minutes (sometimes more!) on each payroll run, compared to our prior payroll entry process through Sage Accounting.
- The Retirement Contributions Report's clarity is appreciated by our investor, our auditor, and our accountant.
My employees love this feature! (As do I, since it saves time in looking up information they can find on their own.) It's nice that they can change their bank account information, or split their deposits at their own discretion. This year (our first year-end with ADP), they'll also be able to access copies of their W2's, which will be helpful as they complete taxes, apply for loans, etc.
ABSOLUTELY! The State of North Carolina required me to phone in my tax deposit at each payroll cycle. This could take up to 15 minutes, depending on hold time or phone glitches that cause one to start over. Now that ADP processes our state and federal taxes, this is no longer a biweekly hassle. I also love that it flags any errors before I can save them.
Sage is clunkier than ADP, in that it's more difficult to manually adjust changing salaries. Also, one must separately enter paycheck EFTs into one's online banking account after completing payroll. Doing everything at one time in ADP RUN saves me up to 45 minutes each payroll cycle. And who can't use more time!
