Overall Satisfaction with RXNT

I use RXNT as my EMR, escribing, lab integration and soon I'll be opening the patient portals. Currently I am using the templates for progress and new patient notes. Before RXNT, I was using Valant. I became fatigued by the number of pages a progress note would have and the repetition of note sections despite keeping the note as concise as possible. I am working on creating my own intake paperwork, and my own encounter templates. Once this is completed....I think i will be sailing through my visits and have encounters charted and submitted in no time.

Pros

  • Onboarding - education on the chart was a little fast but I'm not very technical so I asked Samantha LOTS of questions. She was always patient with me and would repeat things without hesitation.
  • I like the ability to bold, italic, underline, change font and size. My previous EMR I could do NONE of that which produced a very bland appearing and difficult note to read.
  • I love having the ability to integrate Quest. It is so much easier to enter lab orders in the patient's chart rather than going to Quest and entering all the patient info before adding any labs.

Cons

  • In the scheduling...make the lines darker between appointment times and days. I don't know how many times I will enter an appt but have to delete it because it was in the wrong time slot.
  • On that note...there is no way to "reschedule" an appt. date or time. The entire appt has to be deleted and re entered.
  • I don't like that medications cannot be "stopped" in the medications list. If it is deleted, it's deleted. I have not found a way to see a hx of what meds the patient has been prescribed by me in the past other than going into past notes and that is not a very efficient way to find a hx. It would be perfect if the medication were stopped, it would move to the bottom of the list and maybe a lighter color or say "history" on it instead of "current"...just an idea.
  • Continuing with medications...If a dose is changed, I have to stop the medication and enter a new one with the changed dose. Similar to when the medication is 1st started, there is a drop down of dosages...it would be nice to have that included in the "edit" form of the med... if that makes sense?
  • One last thing for improvement. I realize I have to periodically save the note, but I become so irritated if I am in the middle of charting and all of a sudden the page has a cloud over it, the circle of death and you have the option to cancel or reload. If you cancel, the circle continues to circle until you leave the page. If I choose reload...I am kicked out completely and whatever I was working on is not saved. Samantha had said it automatically saves every 90sec but this happens like every 10 min or so. Soooo frustrating when I am in the middle of charting an impression or something that is of length. It totally throws me for a loop and takes me a hot minute to re focus (there's that non tech side of me again).
  • I've only been using for 2 mo so I can't answer this quite yet.
  • I do know that the cost is much more affordable and an excellent value for the cost.
  • I am a single provider practice so I have had to learn the admin side and the provider side which has been a challenge at times.
Just a few issues that either I will learn to live with, learn how to use, or learn how to change the settings.
RXNT offers better quality and more customization for the cost. Valant was very expensive regardless if you wanted a few features or the entire EHR. eClinical Works is easy to duplicate records but then it can take a while to update with current information. And their updated version...you might need a magnifying glass especially if you are using on a laptop. I love the larger font and overall appeal of RXNT much better.

Do you think RXNT delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with RXNT's feature set?

Yes

Did RXNT live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of RXNT go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy RXNT again?

Yes

For my psychiatric telehealth practice, RXNT is just about perfect! Once the patient paperwork packet was completed, the portal is opened and my encounter templates were up and ready to use - I could spend time actually listening to the patient because my paperwork pulls into the chart and subsequent visits can be duplicated/updated easily. It just takes time to get everything completed and ready for use. I didn't have much down time between switching my EMRs which was a little stressful trying to get patient charts moved and my paperwork built.
