Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
We are using Sage Intacct for the general accounting functions of our company (G/L, A/P, Budget, Cash Mgmt). In addition, we subscribe to the Fixed Asset module for our PP&E management. Currently, our finance team members have Business User licenses and we have 8 managers from other departments with view-only access. This allows those managers to view reports, monitor bill payments, and complete other analysis on their own.
- The import template is very user-friendly and is accepted across all modules. This is a huge time-saving function for us!
- Accounts Payable is very intuitive for entering bills. There are so many ways to make entering bills a very efficient process in Sage Intacct, including set-up at the vendor level for default account codes, payment merge options, multiple remittance addresses, etc. Also, being able to duplicate or memorize repeating bills makes the process even faster and easier.
- The custom report builder allows users to create virtually anything from the data contained in your company. It is not the most user-friendly part of Sage Intacct, but the capability is amazing.
- One of the main things that is missing from Sage Intacct is a better way to producing cash flow reports. Currently, there is no way to view a real-time cash flow report without completely reconciling the bank account. As most companies do a monthly (not daily) bank reconciliation, there is no way to check cash flow on a daily or weekly basis as checks clear the bank, etc. One of the main reasons our company chose to go with Sage Intacct was to avoid keeping "shadow" systems and duplicating work in Excel, but we have found it necessary for this function to continue doing so.
- While the A/P screen for entering bills is fantastic, the bill quick-entry screen could use some improvements. That would be great, except that not all dimensions are available to use.
- We haven't had used Sage Intacct long enough to adequately report on this in a quantitative way.
We have benefited from this integration. Things like automating journal entries for bank deposits, etc. have saved our accounting team time and effort. It also reduces the risk of human error greatly when rules are set up ahead of time and processed "behind the scenes." For example, during our initial set-up in our chart of accounts, we created account groups for reporting purposes and are now able to quickly select them rather than going through each individual account every time we need to report on those specific areas.
We have not used these modules as yet. However, we have used the Fixed Asset module through AssetEdge. That module integrates very well with Sage Intacct, and is very simple to use! I more than met our needs for a basic capital tracking system.
Our company used Blackbaud Fundware before switching to Sage Intacct. During our selection process, we viewed several other products - Blackbaud Financial Edge, Abila MIP Advance, and Cougar Mountain. We chose Sage Intacct for several features, but a huge positive to our company was the cloud-based service.
