Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

It is being used as a ledger/our accounting software for all US based real estate transactions, as well as tracking our invoices/billing to all of our US based real estate agents that join our brokerage.

Pros

  • API responses are detailed and usually provide clear information on why an API call was successful or unsuccessful.

Cons

  • Poor access to logs/logging
  • I feel it is missing some safeguards when building out smart events or when objects are being changed. Loops can be implemented without any checks by the system.
  • Very Limited API channels
  • As a developer I cannot speak to this.
We have benefited from the smart events as well as smart rules which allow us to automate processes we previously had to manually complete.
XML is not a commonly used format for API calls. Also the lack of external API channels have given us issues when transitioning to our Microservice architecture and had multiple applications communicating with Sage Intacct.
