Sales Performance Management solutions from SAP SuccessFactors compensates the sales employees through very complex calculations, using a large number of data sets to make those decisions. It also serves as a one-stop-shop for all pay related sales data insights and a platform for developing the future compensation strategy while incentivizing the right behaviour.

- Using names to reference payees in the compensation platform, instead of their ID
- Allow an Advisor to see their compensation as well as how their employees compensation without requiring to proxy
- Expose all variables within the application to the dashboard, to allow them to be used for data insights, without requiring any extra work.

This decision predates me, so I'm not aware of what other applications have been considered or if they indeed have been considered. What I would say is that SAP Success Factors Incentive Management is a very versatile tool, and gives the user exactly what they need: data, insights, pay transparency.
