Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

We use it to send out emails to our customers. This helps us stay in touch by sharing important updates, special offers, and information that they might find useful. Personalization: We can customize emails so that each customer gets messages that are more relevant to them, based on what they like and how they interact with us.Automation: We can set up emails to send automatically, so customers get the right information at the right time without us having to send each email manually.

  • Abandoned cart programs are complex to set up but when setup we see high returns
  • The platform tech fees are higher than the more simpler platforms and implementation costs are also high so ROI realisation takes a bit of time.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the best to future proof your marketing automation efforts. There is very little limit to what can be achieved with Salesforce Marketing Cloud. I dont think there is a next step or a better platform to move to from Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The only limit that their could be would be skills to make full use of the platform and anyone changing from Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be taking a step backward.

It is well suited to complex marketing journeys that need various actions to trigger the journeys. It is a little too complicated for the simpler marketing actions where other platforms are easy to use the interface in a few steps where Marketing Cloud would be perhaps 10 or 11 steps just to make sure that everything is ready for a simple send

With out a partner this would have been a nightmare. The documentation is comprehensive but if you dont know what to look for it becomes tricky

Configuring Salesforce Marketing Cloud

I think the configurability is just right for this type of product. It can adapt to different needs and different kinds of data ingestions.
Always discuss subscriber key selection up front and make sure it is a signed off part of the configuration.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - it is easy to customise but also not much can be customised other than logo and colors
No - we have not done any custom code

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Support

They are really responsive and more than not solve the problem or give you insight to how you can manage the solution yourself. I do find however sometimes a long delay on the more complex issues when they need to loop in other departments. but overall a good experience with support

Slow Initial Response
Yes, it is more than not bundled in with account packages, it does pay to have the premium support package as the responses are quicker. Unless you have your own partner providing you support then it makes sense to use them to get the support you need. It also depends on complexity of the issue.
A time when Salesforce provided you with exceptional support for this product was when I raised an issue with them around automation errors and they got the ticket in record time and then suggested I get on a call to discuss further so we could screen share which resulted in the problem being solved almost immediately

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Reliability

they have a 99.9% up time and the issues that arose were most often from the way we set up large automations
It does get slow often and sometimes requires a log out and log back in

SFMC offers multiple ways of integrating but their are limited out of the box integrations and sollutions. Even their CRM integration can be complex.

Relationship with Salesforce

they are great and providing an art of the possible for the platform and making sure you are set to go come implementation time
Customer success team members kick in but for the most part the vendor steps back unless there is something wrong what was purchased
discount rates if signatures were given prior a certain cut off time
was not involved with this part but i have not heard about clompaints
Beware of them trying to sell you tech that is not applicable or beneficial.

Yes - yes this happens in the background and very rarely effects anything at all other than a few new features available.
