Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It was purchased to be used as the Enterprise Analytics Solution for SAP-based platforms and applications. The desire is for content to be published for enterprise-wide consumption and also to enable end-users to build their own dashboards and analytical solutions. However, user adoption has been a significant issue.

Pros and Cons

Easy access, no installation of application.
Drag and drop excel files to create stories.

User-friendliness. The user interface and report building capabilities are not user-friendly or intuitive. Navigating also is challenging and not very intuitive. In particular, we have various scenarios where users have navigated to a certain state in the dashboard and it has been virtually impossible to backtrack or return to the initial view.

Alternatives Considered

Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server and Microsoft Power BI

SAP Analytics Cloud has better integration with SAP. The other tools are more user-friendly now but SAP Analytics Cloud seems to be catching up and making constant improvements.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well Suited for simple visualizations with pre-formatted data. The automatic creation of visualizations is very useful to generate ideas for visualizations. Live connection via BOE Universes is very good.

It is less appropriate for a user who knows other tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. I have found the SAP Analytics Cloud to be less intuitive. Also, the reusability of dashboard designs and data wrangling is a challenge.
