Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

SAP Analytics Cloud is used as a reporting tool by almost all departments of the organization.

Pros

  • Easy to learn by users.
  • Good interface with SAP BW.
  • On the cloud, web access.

Cons

  • Complicate for users to create complex variables in reports.
  • Planning licenses are too expensive.
Qlik Sense is too expensive, much more complicated to use for users (especially new variables or other complex calculations) and requires you to buy too many extra functionalities to have the same options as SAP Analytics Cloud can offer.

Microsoft Power BI is much cheaper and has very powerful functionality, the only problem is when your corporate data universe is SAP, you need to work much more in the connection between both systems.
The connectivity from SAP Analytics Cloud to other SAP tools, in special SAP BW, works quite smooth.
The connectivity to other external data sources depends on the tool.
In our company, we use a lot of report distribution across internal and external users, and once is all set, it works quite good.
The access for users and sharing between teams has been a new functionality very well-welcomed from almost all users. But required an initial effort to learn how to use it.
The best scenario is all your business data is managed in the SAP universe, especially your data warehousing.
If your universe is non-SAP or a mix of different data, other tools can be useful too.
