Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud
I am both involved in development of SAC use cases as consultant for clients as well as for internal assets/showcases at my company. I have used SAC for a variety of use cases from top management reporting to planning applications. At our clients it is usually used across the organization once the decision for the product is made. Some of the teams at my current project have already set developments into productions whereas other teams will start doing so beginning Q1 2021.
- Modern charts and graphics.
- Scripting possibilities to implement business logics.
- R Integration.
- Lots of simple drag n drop development and settings.
- CSS/Layout customizations.
- Compounded Objects currently do not work in Application Designer.
- "Back" button functionality.
- Setting filters on model/data source level, not on individual chart level.
- Great usability for end users.
- Unifications of front end tools.
- Self-service reporting possible.
For its current market maturity, SAC stacks up well against its competitors. There may be specific use cases for certain planning/analytic scenarios where it still lacks the functionality but generally speaking it is already a good reporting tool. SAC can still improve when it comes to layouting options as well as backend integration. However, with the product being quickly improved, SAC integrates well into an SAP landscape and has therefore advantages over non-SAP reporting tools.
