Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

This cloud solution has been used as business intelligence tool for quite some time in our organization to gather some critical data insights using the live data available through HANA database. It uses some future ready machine learning models to give us the required end results that we can present to the management with quite some confidence.
It's a really secure solution with a high level of governance and compliance as per our IT policies. Our lead time for dashboard development from proof of concept by Subject matter expert to final implementation by db connection, folder permission formalities were under 2 months. Thanks to the intuitive interface on offering we used this software mainly for the predictive analytics capabilities and easy spooling of data to generate apt reports.

Pros

  • It has a very balanced and basic intuitive interface making it easy for business users to work with very less IT support.
  • Predictive analytics with Machine learning capabilities.
  • Complete cloud package with no requirement of additional hardware infrastructure.

Cons

  • Even though deployed on cloud have found delays in report delivery when working with very large datasets.
  • There is no option to go back to previous committed action other than redo from scratch should have an option to go back to last step.
  • It only works with connected SAP db.
  • It has helped the business users become more creative as they were able to generate custom reports and standardized dashboards for bespoke requirements.
  • Financial data was openly available for use by users to make analytical insights without being a part of finance dept.
  • A lot of man hours have been reduced to generate meaningful reports thanks to the automated report delivery features.
Our entire DB was connected to SAP products hence it made sense only to utilize a SAP analytics solution for our analytical need owing to ease of integrated and support on offer by SAP. Even though it is a bit buggy and not that feature rich I am pretty confident SAP will make improved modifications in the days to come.

This tool on overall terms offers a good amount of features that has always covered the requirements we ever had. Overall it is really easy to use which makes it an extremely professional offering from SAP which I personally recommended to all SAP users, moreover being deployed on the cloud has saved a lot of hardware infrastructure costs.
The ticket system for issues is rally noteworthy we have received reverts on every issue that was raised and the user community platform is again a really helpful platform for clearing any questions or issues that arise during normal product use with solution put forth by users who have faced the same problems earlier which ensures it's a reliable solution.
  1. Cloud deployment makes the solution available at even remote locations away from the office.
  2. User interface helps to create dashboards and reports without much issues.
  3. Frequent updates ensure the ML models are up to date.
  4. Certain modules in planning interface are not up to the mark and requires more work by SAP.
  5. Easy to export data to different file types like xlsx, pdf.
