Overall Satisfaction with SAP Data Intelligence

We are currently conducting a feasibility study to which extent DI is a candidate for a company wide data integration platform. The current focus is seamless and simple data source integration in SAP and non-SAP environments. After extraction relevant data is stored on a DI based data lake for consumption of analytics and reporting applications. Data lakes are kept up to date by real time delta updates from the sources.
  • Integration with SAP sources
  • Real time source data access
  • State of the art UI and tooling
  • Enterprise readiness features
  • Overall solution stability
  • Reusables for data lake management
  • More detailed monitoring layers for external access
  • Right now it’s still a strategic initiative where a positive impact or ROI still has to show.
Overall it shows that DI is a strategic topic for SAP with respective customer support initiatives. Pace of development is visible and input is being considered on a timely basis. Issues are resolved in acceptable time frames. Communication to product management and DevOps teams is outstanding.
It’s a tool for the tech savvy so it delivers to the respective audience. Overall usability is state of the art unlike other more traditional offerings from the same vendor.

No

No

Would you buy SAP Data Intelligence again?

Yes

It draws its strength by being part of the SAP ecosystem. Easy integration with SAP sources of all kinds without a lot of custom development or the need for additional adapters. It has some room for improvement in case it’s used for data integration. While the procurement of data is quite extensive, the provision of data to consumers can still be improved.
