Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
SAP HANA is being used by the entire organization but the primary functionality is used by Finance. We are in 1605 with Simple Finance. This was more of a technical upgrade move. New asset accounting and cash management are the only new functionalities that we have embraced.
- Universal Journal. No reconciliations are required between FI and COPA. This is a big advantage.
- New asset accounting is more robust and provides options to create multiple ledger groups. Treasury and Cash management are user-friendly now.
- Performance of base accounting tables is very fast.
- Fiori is very rigid. Every finance user requires an Excel download. This is not available for trial balance apps, hence its use is not seen.
- No new customization to existing Fiori apps. We have to create new custom Fiori apps.
- It has opened up options to implement new functionality and prepare for the financial transformation initiated by the company
- Implemented cash management
- More options on reporting and making existing reports obsolete have been a challenge since Fiori does not match up to existing reporting functionalities.
We are an SAP SOP so it was quite natural that we went with SAP. Other products were not as robust as SAP, specifically on the finance side.
