SAP HANA is being used for financial reporting and analytics across the whole organization. SAP HANA provides real-time transactional reports which is really helpful.
Pros
- Zero downtime.
- Single source of truth.
- Faster speed.
Cons
- Cost of ownership for on-premise.
- Sometimes accidental crashes on heavy usage on peak time.
- Faster extraction of CSV reports.
- Now we are able to generate reports faster, the time-saving in itself is a great ROI.
- Onboarding time for SAP HANA.
- Skills required to get on boarding and operations ready.
The AP and AR reports which used to take 15 - 20 minutes to download now get downloaded in a few seconds. The data corrections if any used to take a day to reflect and are now done in less than an hour.
We are currently not utilizing the advanced analytical capabilities of SAP HANA but we have a plan to implement the use of spatial service.
We are able to implement complex business logic in SAP HANA using the native development features and avoid exposure of logic at application layer, which in itself is so secure and reliable.
SAP HANA is so agile. It is more than just a database and of course it's a SAP product so reliability.
