Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

Scale Computing has replaced our aging VMware datacenter environment. The HyperConverged, 10GB backend connectivity was attractive.
  • Ease of integration and management.
  • Lower cost compared to comparable HyperConverged systems.
  • Support is extremely lacking. We ran into an issue where migration from the old system into Scale Computing corrupted the existing server environment. They were unresponsive and the manager of support stated, "it wasn't our problem."
  • Misleading with regards to migration from old system to new. Time to migrate is much longer and more involved than indicated at the sales meeting.
  • Training is basic and scripted.
One of the worst experiences of my 20 years of implementation.
Financial systems and back end database servers perform well. The active directory, once migrated into the system, is fine. Migration of AD machines and emails systems are tricky. The new deployments become out of sync and are isolated from the domain. Fresh installs are a better fit for this system
  • Good value for an introduction to HyperConvergence.
  • Best suited for small scale and remote locations looking for cost-effective implementation of a high-performance data center.
  • Disaster Recovery and business continuity solutions are not worth the cost charged.
Great for small scale environments or remote locations needing localized datacenters. Less appropriate for large scale deployments or environments that have more robust data applications.
