Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

Scale is being used for our primary private cloud infrastructure and at branch offices. It addresses loaded costs of a hypervisor, dense storage, live migration and overall resiliency. It simplifies the management and doesn't require specialized resources from an engineering perspective, allowing our IT to be a jack of all trades vs a SME. This ultimately enables us to focus on our core business alignment services.
  • Live migration.
  • Simplifies management of VMs.
  • Dense storage with great resiliency.
  • Dense storage with optional hybrid caching or full SSD.
  • Simple, worry-free upgrades.
  • In-depth monitoring and control of the VM host/cluster.
  • Single pane of glass management (not in public cloud, i.e. not the upcoming edge service).
  • In-depth configuration and monitoring of vmhost for security and other aspects.
They have been responsive, see it through to completion and take ownership.
BI, System of Record, MS AD, SIEM, IAM, DB, data warehouse. Seemless transition from a functionality perspective. Found it was easier and less business impact to rebuild systems than migrate when size was exceeding 1TB for overall storage. Experienced licensing issues when trying to change MS licenses from retail to VLSC. This is more of a MS issue, but is good to be aware of during your transition.
  • Good initial ROI, when comparing to other HC or distributed stack deployments.
  • Enabled growth of VMs and business intelligence similar to the ability you have on a public cloud with a fixed price.
  • Potential awareness of initial bulk price vs ongoing price when buying as needed vs additional bulk pricing.
More flexible and willingness to meet customer requirements vs other companies.
Simplifying the stack, reducing TCO, reducing or redirecting engineer areas of focus.
