Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

We utilize HC3 in both production as well as DR for the majority of our primary needs. It has saved countless hours of configurations and reconfiguration to account for changes in our environment.

Pros

  • Amazing support. Seriously, a skilled team of technicians on the back end that are there to help and aren't reading from a script.
  • Easy GUI and interface.
  • Easy setup.
  • Extremely fast restoration of backups. Minutes not hours.

Cons

  • Ability to delete multiple snapshots at once.
  • Provide more detail as to where vmdk files are stored on drives.
Any and I mean any time I have had even the slightest issue I have found an actual human in the states answering the phone and helping to resolve the issue quickly. It is rare that I have stumped them and at best only for an hour or two.
  • Easier access to resources.
  • Faster recovery times.
  • Near immediate access to trained technical support.
For us, Scale has been a great boon. It has allowed us much easier access to our servers (10 at the moment). As a one-man show with some out of department support it has allowed me the flexibility to solve problems in whatever building I'm in much faster. I can strongly recommend it for small or medium sized organizations. I have not seen in a large scale environment but I presume by applying multiple clusters it could be just as easily functional.
