Overall Satisfaction with SeekOut

As an organization, we are currently using SeekOut to assist in sourcing candidates for roles across Engineering, Field, Sales, and G&A. I personally specialize on the technical recruitment side, so I have used the tool to search for talent across Software Engineering, SRE, Engineering Leadership, Product Management and more across EMEA and NASA timezones. In addition to sourcing, we have been using the reporting and analytics functionality to provide data to show our hiring managers and become a better data-driven organization in our hiring efforts.

Pros

  • Reporting and Analytics.
  • Diversity searching.
  • Contact Information outside of Linkedin.
  • Company specific searching.

Cons

  • Although the diversity tag is awesome, it's still definitely a continual work in progress, with some profiles not always being relevant.
  • Contact information is sometimes out of date. However, you can still reach out to candidates on their Linkedin profiles.
  • The tool has helped a lot with Diversity searching and building more diverse pipelines.
  • The tool has helped us to get a more in-depth understanding of a candidate's profile as we are able to see their Linkedin projects and work, meaning a better and more targeted outreach.
  • The tool has helped us to become more data-driven through the reporting and analytics function.
The account managers have been great that we have worked with. They're super responsive on email if we have any questions, and also on the live chat. We have also found they're always happy to run onboarding sessions with newer recruiters who join the business and have never used the tool, as well as, more advanced sessions for those with more experience looking to learn new tricks.

For Engineering, Seekout has been really helpful as you always get access to candidates' other social media and online accounts, e.g., Github. This means you're able to see the type of languages and projects they have worked on - which gives a better picture of what they're going to be suitable for if their Linkedin profile is empty. I think the tool is more friendly to US-based searching than EMEA.
