Overall Satisfaction with Shopify

Shopify is the platform we use for our eCommerce business, The Good Cat Company. We are using it across the board for selling, shipping, customer service, marketing and our online blog. Using Shopify has been extremely easy as their support has been incredible. Whenever a problem has occurred, we have been able to contact Shopify and they have called us back within minutes of receiving our call. The site itself is just so darn easy to use! We had looked at other platforms and they did not offer as much support or bells and whistles as Shopify. We have been able to get our search out in front with Google and that is a big help as well. This is my second online store, my other business is not on Shopify at this point, but will be in the future.

Pros

  • Customer Service!! A+++ We always get someone who is knowledgeable about our questions and if they don't they have the answer, they contact someone who is.
  • Apps--Their apps are very useful and very business friendly.
  • Ease with building a site from scratch. We built our site ourselves and were very pleased with the support we got from Shopify and also the tools available.

Cons

  • Button selection-We run a niche based eCommerce and want to provide our customers with a fun atmosphere to shop. We are into fun and cute and the buttons for social media, the blog, etc., are basic, boring buttons. I would like to have more custom type buttons available.
  • More themes--Although Shopify has a good many themes, I do think that the site could use more. An eCommerce site needs to stand out from the competition and never look dated. Looking dated is the problem a lot of eCommerce sites face. I would like to see more of a selection of themes.
  • ROI has been great. Customers seem to be able to navigate the site and add more and more items to their carts which is a good thing!
I think Shopify is well suited for eCommerce of any kind. I have been an online retailer since the dark ages of 1998 and things have changed a lot. I found the site very business friendly and a good site for a beginning retailer as well as one who has been selling online for awhile. I know when customers go to my site, that everything will work correctly. Items will go into carts and customers can easily purchase anything they like.

I haven't used it for anything else, so I am unsure as to how Shopify would be as a promotional site for either a business or an individual.
