We use Sigma to enable data information, visualization, and exploration for our internal users as well as our external customers.
- All the base visualization types and ever-expanding customization options.
- Robust user and team organization options.
- Seamless connection to Snowflake.
- More flexibility for visualization adjustment/formatting would be useful.
- The set "12 columns" of space can sometimes be limiting for visualization placement.
- The same filter selections will not persist in separating dashboards within the same workbook.
- Improved self-service for business users.

Sigma has been very much in-line with other tools as far as data access and analysis.
Sigma is not currently being used for this internally. We were replacing another tool, and we have had to prioritize self-service dashboard implementation. We are expecting to expand its usage for ad hoc analyses in the coming year.
The decision to move to Sigma was mainly a business decision based on cost, as the vast majority of our users are external customers of ours. Sigma is basically on par with the others for its core functionality but still falls short in pure customization options. Additionally, being a newer product, Sigma has not yet developed the support of online communities that competitors like Tableau and Power BI have, but Sigma does have excellent documentation available online as well as a direct connect-to-live-help option built right into the user interface.
