Overall Satisfaction with Sigma Computing

We use Sigma Computing majorly to create detailed data-driven reports and dashboards which are then used by various departments to make informed business decisions. From Sales department to internal IT, Sigma Computing helps address the BI needs and solve problems with data representation. Sigma Computing at our org is used for human resource utilisation analysis, which is vital for understanding and planning for additional workloads without compromising on performance and stability. It is also used for performance metrics and KPIs tracking ensuring that senior management and relevant stakeholders have access to vital performance data.

Pros

  • Helps in identifying and resolving discrepancies in data
  • Generating dashboards for tracking key performance indicators
  • Supports internal operations such as project management and product analytics with data-driven insights
  • Scheduling automated exports and embedding reports

Cons

  • Sigma Computing does not allow custom ordering of pivot fields in pivot tables easily
  • Sigma Computing lacks functionality for creating tables or sections that dynamically adjust to the browser window's height while maintaining a fixed height textbox at the bottom
  • Sigma Computing does not provide straightforward options for formatting totals in tables, such as renaming 'Total' to 'Average', 'Team Total', etc
  • Sigma Computing does not support searching by individual tab names within a workbook
  • It has helped increase the revenue
  • Specific dashboards and reports created within Sigma Computing have enabled users to make informed decisions and manage their accounts more strategically
  • Sigma Computing has automated several reporting processes that traditionally required manual intervention
Sigma Computing exclusively uses Snowflake as its data source, which enhances data security by not caching or extracting data locally. Tableau, on the other hand, allows a broader range of internal databases and files like SQL Server, Postgres, etc., and supports extracted data, although faster, pose security risks. Sigma Computing offers viewer licenses for free, whereas Tableau charges license cost even for read-only users.
