Engage is used by the Kallidus Marketing Team for email marketing and automation programmes to help us send relevant emails and content to prospects and clients who would be receptive to our offer. We chose such a powerful automation platform as we wanted to ensure that we could measure and respond to the 'reader journey' at all online touchpoints.
  • Integration with Salesforce is very good, our sales team can obtain contact engagement insight from Engage without having to move outside of Salesforce
  • Support is very good, always quick to respond and willing to resolve.
  • Contact list management is very good, including the management of unsubscribes.
  • Reporting is complex, just getting access to the detail of who has opened or clicked emails can be challenging
  • The email and landing page template editors are very weak, creating good design within them is difficult. Easier to create HTML in an external tool and import. Defeats the objective of non-programmer email creation
  • Online training is not great. Always best to signup for live webinars which are much better
  • Automation programs are not straightforward to create and test. More online help is required to ensure users can be confident that programs created will act as expected.
  • Better visibility of online engagment
  • Joined up online journeys allow us to target communications much more accurately to ensure relevancy to recipients
We selected Siverpop over Marketo based on price and the demonstration of SalesForce integration. Marketo were unable to demonstrate the degree of integration we were looking for, although I'm sure it does have the capability.
Although Silverpop are planning to address the weaknesses in the HTML editing features I think there are simpler and equally cost effective alternatives available to us now. The SalesForce integration will still be a key consideration when it comes to selecting alternatives but ease of use and good reporting capability will now be higher on the list of must haves
It's very powerful but complex, if you need a system that you can use quickly then this is not it. Consider the ability of your users and how much time for training and learning they would need. Make sure you review the design and creation elements, they are not easy to use.
